The Water Authority recently experienced a treatment process failure at its regional treatment plant on April 21-22, 2019. The water delivered to you by Padre Dam continued to be safe for all uses.

Although this was not an emergency, customers have a right to know what happened and what the San Diego County Water Authority doing to correct this situation. You do not need to boil your water or take other actions.

On April 21-22, 2019, water in the Water Authority’s treatment plant was not in contact with the proper dosage of a disinfectant called ozone for the required amount of time.
