At a time when it is needed most, Padre Dam staff are coming together with the San Diego County Water Authority, other local water agencies and the San Diego Food Bank to provide food assistance through a virtual food drive to help community members who are experiencing economic hardships from the COVID-19 crisis.
“As public servants, we have an awareness and a desire to give back to the people that we serve,” said one Padre Dam employee. “I know that in these hard times, I am personally always looking for opportunities to help.”
As of mid-April the group of several local water agencies in partnership with the San Diego County Water Authority has donated nearly $7,000.
Padre Dam staff continue to serve the community as essential workers providing safe and reliable water and wastewater services, even during public emergencies like the COVID-19 pandemic.
