[ARCHIVED] Water Main Break on Cuyamaca

Cuyamaca Water Main Break 2020

Monday afternoon update: Padre Dam crews continue to work on repairs to the water main break on Cuyamaca. Work is expected to continue until Wednesday with paving on the road to be completed on Thursday. Our crews have faced significant challenges with this break. Despite these challenges, they continue to work diligently on fixing the14” water pipeline. We are very fortunate to have such a tremendous team working hard through this difficult situation. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our crews continue the repairs on Cuyamaca.

The water main break on Cuyamaca near Prospect first occurred on Friday morning around 3:00am. Padre Dam crews continue to work on Sunday to complete repairs and have been on site continuously to complete repairs. This water main break has been one of the most challenging breaks we have experienced in many years. After initial repairs were made, two additional leaks were discovered on the pipeline, causing crews to continue to work on the additional repairs. We apologize for the inconvenience this work has caused for the community and customers who are without water service. All water services should be back in service this afternoon. We are working diligently to get the pipeline in working order and the road repaved as expeditiously as possible.
