Suzanne Till Gets Sworn In

Padre Dam Welcomes Suzanne Till as New Board Member

Dr. Suzanne Till was sworn in on Friday, December 4 as Padre Dam’s newest board member. Dr. Till, a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, is the new representative for Division 2 in Santee. She brings a wealth of knowledge to her new role with a PhD in Water Resources Geography. Her additional water experience includes working as a Water Resources Analyst at SDSU and as a Watershed Coordinator for the Southern California Wetlands Recovery Project.

“I thank Santee voters for the honor to serve. I dedicate my efforts to East County youth, since California will continue in a climate cycle of drought and aridity.  I will utilize my pragmatic research skills and water resources experience to augment the current Directors’ impressive achievements. Santee residents, especially our youth, our future, deserve clean, safe and affordable water.”

Director Till has lived in Santee since 1991. She is a science instructor at Mater Dei Catholic High School, Chula Vista, and an adjunct professor of Geography, Southwestern College. She is proud of her native plant garden, her backyard rainwater harvesting system, and enjoys surfing especially near Scripps Pier.

Director Till was elected in November 2020 by the residents of Division 2 to a four-year term that will run through 2024. Padre Dam’s Board of Directors is made up of five elected members, each representing a geographic area with the District. Directors are elected by voters within their divisions for four-year staggers terms.
