publichearing

Due to an increase in COVID cases, the July 13, 2022 rate hearing will be held virtually only. Information on how to attend and participate remotely is available on the Board agenda page.

As part of the rate setting process, Padre Dam mails a Prop 218 notice to customers and property owners 45 days in advance of a public hearing. This notice provides information on current and future rates and charges that could impact their bill.

The District's Public Hearing to consider rates for Fiscal Year 2023-2027 will be held July 13. 2022 at 6pm. At the public hearing the Board will hear comments from the public and then consider adopting the new rates and charges. Padre Dam sets rates for a five year period in order to align with the District's Five Year Strategic Business Plan. We are pleased to propose internal water and sewer rates for the next five years that provide a 0% increase in revenue and a 0% increase to our typical residential customer.

Protest letters related to the proposed rates and fees may be mailed, hand-delivered (9300 Fanita Parkway, Santee) or emailed (apederson@padre.org). Email subject must state - RATE HEARING. Due to the hearing being virtual only the District will have a drop box for protest letters will be located outside the front doors of the District’s office during the public hearing and will be checked at the close of hearing.  All hand-delivered written protests must be received by the conclusion of the public hearing.

Written protests must include: 1) Statement that the identified property owner or tenant is opposed to the proposed water rate and/or sewer rate adjustments; 2) Include the property owner or tenant name, service address, or parcel number, or Padre Dam account number; and 3) A signature of the property owner or tenant submitting the protest.
