A $28.3 million grant has been recommended by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior to help build the East County Advanced Water Purification Program! It’s the largest grant amount allocated of the 25 projects selected by the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation’s WaterSMART: Title XVI WIIN Water Reclamation and Reuse Projects funding.
The JPA will continue to actively pursue and maximize funding from local, regional, state and federal agencies. To date the Program has secured over $135M in grant funding and $766 million in low-interest loans. All of this funding reduces impacts to ratepayers and makes the Program cost effective and a smart investment.
